We're looking at relocating from Charleston SC - and have Durango and Pagosa Springs on our short list! Check them out - close to ski areas and lots of outdoor activities...

Pagosa would be better for hair stylist. It also gets less snow and is easier to get to wolf creek for skiing.

Grand Juction sounds like your area. Powderhorn ski area is only 45min away. Lots of hiking, they just hate cyclists here. Housing is rising, but you can still find stuff in your $$ range, stay out of Clifton though. Lot's of Meth and losers there.

You wouldn't be including nearby Fruita in the "they", now would you? Fruita is the singletrack mecca of Colorado.

EDIT: Although, being a mecca doesn't mean locals still can't hate bikers I guess!

Well I pretty much have my sights set on Evergreen. Anyone know any good cheap places to stay? I'm looking at Hostel's in that area and can't really find any in that particular area? We are going to visit many other towns in that area mainly in Summit/Jefferson/Clear Creek counties..........but Evergreen just seems to fit the bill.
