I am currently a hairstylist in a trendy salon in Los Angeles. I am considering moving to Denver or Boulder and starting over. Provided I work at a nice salon, what could I expect to charge for hair services in these cities? Can a hairstylist manage to afford a decent living in Colorado? I currently earn $80 for a haircut in Ca, but housing is so expensive I can never own my own home. Are there many commision salons in these cities, or is the hair industry dominated by booth renters? I am also considering a move to Portland Or as well, earing a decent living is important to me. What do you pay for your hair?
