Other recent transplants in my social circle include a composites engineer, three project managers, an investment manager, a gastroenterologist, an independent film-maker, and a commercial architect.

My wife is a RN and was able to land a job at Memorial Hospital in Colorado Springs earlier this month. She was offered the job on the spot. Nurses have it too easy some times! With 5 years experience, she is making about $30/hr on a cardio floor.

Good for her! Nursing jobs are spotty, esp. if you want something other than a hospital job. Every time I"ve been out of the market for some reason (kids, aging parents, etc), it's taken a while to get back in.

When we first came out here in 1980 (making my experience somewhat irrelevant to this thread), I found a job as a public health nurse (visiting nurse) in about a month.
