One question I had what do most people do if they do loss power for a couple of days? Do you and most have generators?

I have a generator hooked up to a transfer switch and I can run everything I need for the whole house. Heat, water, cooking, refrigeration.
Most people don't have generators. If you are on city water then it doesn't matter from a water stand point if the power goes out, but with a well you need power to run the pump.
Lots of people have wood stoves so no electricity is needed for heat and then they just melt snow for water if need be.
The power doesn't go out that often. In 3.5 years the power has gone out 4 times. Twice for around 4-5 hours, once for 14 and once for 30 which happened from this last spring storm. There was a lot of wet snow which caused a lot of downed trees crashing on power lines.
I want to make it as easy/comfortable as possible on my family so being able to fire up the generator and run most of the house makes the wife and kids happy which makes me happy etc.....
