Should Colorado have a drug test for welfare recipients? When could such a measure get passed in Colorado?

Does weed count? Are we only talking cash aid, or are we also talking SNAP and Medicaid?

Let me know.

If private and public employers that don't allow being under the influence, then they shouldn't be getting SNAP, Medicaid or WIC.

Influence of what? Are we talking alcohol, or drugs as soft as or harder than weed?

I see the moral point you're trying to make, but drug use isn't necessarily a symptom or causal factor of poverty.

Hard drugs, anything more than alcohol and weed. That's my compromise.

No. It costs taxpayers more than it saves:

Drug Testing Welfare Recipients Is a Waste of Taxpayer Money

Just another "feel good" way for Republicans to kick poor people.

Too authoritarian if you ask me. It's bad enough that people have to go to the government with their hands out, even worse that we also accuse the innocent of being drug users when they're not.

There are other government programs that cost more than drug testing for welfare recipients. You know the Bustang program? Do away with the Bustang program that CDOT is pushing, that costs $3 million a year through subsidizes. $3 million could be used to widen parts of I-25 south of Castle Rock to Monument.
