Please read my lengthy reply to the recent post "why do people leave Colorado" and reconsider very carefully. I have lived in 7 states and this is the only one I would never return to once I get out, especially on a vacation.

You should look at Lafayette and Louisville. Close to major hospitals. Boulder Valley School District is one of the best in the state. Hiking very close in Boulder area. Waneka Lake in Lafayette. Then, there are decent sized lakes north in Loveland.

Louisville and Lafayette are both very family friendly and both have old downtown areas where you can walk. Crime rate in general is pretty low.

I hope this helps.

Im 27, my wife 24 and we have a six year old daughter we are also planning to relocate to colorado from Seattle, my wifed and I are gonna go down together for a few days in June to check things out and get a feel for the different areas. Anything we find now until the time we are set to relocate which will be July of this year as school starts Aug. 5th in most districts I believe we will definately pass on to your family and if theres any info you may have that may be helpful to us we'd appreciate it as this will be our first major relocation and we are nervous but very excited at the same time.

Why are you planning on relocating?
What line of work are you in?
Where are you going to work?
What is your budget for housing?
