Default Moving to Colorado....NEED HELP!!!

I am currently living in L.A. and HATING it!!!! I was born and raised in the Metro Detroit area in Michigan & on my drive out to the golden state I drove through Colorado and absolutely feel in love with it. I have been to Colorado a few times before just to go skiing so I don't really know any areas at all. I am 21 and I am looking for a young, cool, trendy hotspot. If anyone has ever been to Michigan I am looking for a Royal Oak, Ferndale, Ann Arbor type of place. I want diversity, things within relative close walking distance, safe neighborhood, & people to be fairly excepting of all walks of life. I am also looking at a few schools out there as well. Either Boulder or Denver....I plan on going to community college for the first year until I can get residency, then go on from there. So any help/input I can get would be a GREAT help!!!! Thanks! :-D

To be within walking distance in a lively place would generally mean you would like to be in the Downtown area. Denver's LoDo (Lower Downtown) and Capital hill is a prime choice for young adults.

If this is where you end up and plan to go to Community college, then Auraria Campus is not far. It is in (on the side of) downtown and it has UCD (University of Colorado at Denver) CCD (Community College of Denver) and Metropolitan State College of Denver.

I am 22 and going to the Auraria campus. I love its location because of the Downtown location.

If you have any more specific questions, please let me know.
