Would love to see the spot where the corners of Colorado, New Mexico, Arizona and Utah meet. Any traveling suggestions? Does this spot have a name?

Is it safe? Yes! Why wouldn't it be safe?

In my opinion, the Four Corners site itself isn't worth the effort to go there. On the other hand, the Four Corners REGION is wonderful. Be sure to give yourself time to go see some of the places mentioned in the article (see link above) -- those WILL make it well worth the trip.

I'm still curious why you thought it might not be a safe place to go to.

The Four Corners monument is just a rather innocuous stone monument that shows where the four corners of Colorado, New Mexico, Utah, and Arizona join. It sits out in the middle of the Colorado desert that stretches for miles in every direction. By the way, according to more modern surveys, the monument itself doesn't even sit at the true four corners of the states.

As for safety, the normal caveats for travelling in desolate, unpopulated areas--with any law enforcement many miles away--do apply. The area is surrounded by Indian Reservations (Navajo and Mountain Ute). On the reservations, tribal law applies. The Navajos have their own tribal police; I don't know about the Mountain Utes. (And--being stopped for a traffic violation by the tribal police can be an unpleasant experience, according to some of my acquaintances who have "enjoyed" it in years past.)
