Does anyone know where I can get barley straw on the western slope? I can't find anyone around Delta who has any or knows of anyone who sells it. Need it for my pond.

I don't have a source on the western slope but I do have one in the San Luis Valley. Kinda far from you-have you checked the feed stores around Dove Creek? They know the local ranchers and if anyone knows, they will.

I had to order it from Ohio of all places. No one sells it here and no one knows anyone that does. I've checked every feed store within 100 miles.

???? OHIO ???? Coors contracts with barley farmers in the San Luis Valley for the barley harvest. The farmers always have barley straw bales for sale to the straw bale home builders and others who need it for erosion control, silage, etc,etc

I can't remember the name of the place but south on HWY 50 turn right on Main Street, it's a feed store on the left.

These folks grow a lot of barley in or near Alamosa Contacts
Maybe they sell barley straw or have a neighbor to recommend.

This ad is 5 years old Monte Vista Journal 2/17/10 classifieds but near the bottom somebody was offering a lot of barley straw out of Monte Vista. Maybe they are still in that biz.

Page 13 of this state directory https://www.colorado.gov/pacific/sit...0Directory.pdf
shows a source in Cortez (and no others).
