Pretty consistent from year to year, speaks well of Colorado and it's people.

The low-education, low-income states have the worst health ratings.

Or just the Southeast in general. Gotta love our fried foods! I actually make an effort to live a healthy lifestyle, only to have my own family and friends often tell me that I'm wasting my money buying healthy food and wasting my time by working out. They spend hundreds of dollars a month on medication for their health issues and sit at home watching more TV in one evening than I do in a month, but hey, I'm the foolish one. *Sigh* maybe I'll find more acceptance in Colorado. . .

Perhaps also the proportions of older and younger people have something to do with it.

Wink Good Colorado health news (kind of)

You may pleased to learn that reports have Colorado leading the nation in one key indicator.

In 1995 no state in the union had an obesity rate above 20%. Today, every state in the union has an obesity rate over 20%, save one: Colorado. But just barely, at 19.8%.

This is one area where I think Pueblo is above not only the state average but the national average....

"Between 2005 and 2009, Colorado remained the sole state with an obesity rate below 20 percent. Now, no state falls into that category, the CDC says."

"In 2011, Colorado's obesity rate was 20.7 percent — the lowest in the nation."
