So I'm sitting in my living room with my door closed yet again. In my condo, I have 2 windows, a front door, and a patio door, with no air conditioner. Neither of my doors has a screen door on them, and my landlord will not install one for me. The temperature outside is fantastic. However, my door is closed due to the insane amount of pollen floating around outside, and around (inside) my condo. I keep brushing the pollen away from my face as I type this. When I look outside, it seems as though it's snowing. Mounds and mounds of pollen are everywhere. For those of you that live in Eagle County, is it like this all summer? I expected it for May - June, but come on, it's almost mid-July now! This has been going on for over a month. Does the pollen go away, or is this something that lasts all summer? This sucks.

I have all the windows and doors open our house is covered too, screens don't help at all. It's usually not this bad but because we had such a cold spring everything bloomed late. The "snow" is the cottonwood trees, they should be done soon too.

Yep in summer, it's a pain in the butt cause the car gets covered with a dusty coating of pollen, constantly. It should subside by August.

Vail is funny because like other towns at that altitude, summer peaks rapidly and descends just as quickly. By August 15 you should notice it being a bit cooler at night with shorter days.

The earliest Aspen I have ever seen turn is August 6.

Maybe get a window fan at Wal Mart and turn it to suck the air outside rather than in.

Thank you both! I was hesitant to post (whining about first-world problems and all), but it was really getting to me. I'm glad I don't have allergies! My condo seems to be completely surrounded by those cottonwood trees. There are tons of clumps all over the grass and bike path here. Gives my dog something to chase, so I guess there's a benefit to it.

I've been keeping a box fan turned outward to hopefully keep the stuff flying out the door rather than in, but it's hard to tell if it's been helping much. I like to think it does anyway!

I'm okay with it getting cooler for sure. I'm ready to start snowboarding powder again already!

Thanks agian!
