My wife and I (both teachers) are planning a move to Colorado within the next few years. Right now, our search is based on my somewhat-limited knowledge of the state. I have been to Colorado a half dozen times ― Front Range and Western Slope ― and it feels like home. We would love to raise our children there.

We are looking for a town that is teacher-salary affordable and family-friendly. A place with cultural fixtures (art, live music, etc.) would be a huge plus. A lot of the towns ― say, Crested Butte and Manitou Springs ― that fit this description appear very pricey.

I turned down a job in Monte Vista last year, so I guess our options are not totally wide open. Monte was way too small for our taste.

Our options are wide open at this point, so any suggestions would be very much appreciated. Thanks!

- Joe
