Rec Centers in Castle Rock like Highlands Ranch? (Parker: HOA, buy)

We will soon be moving to Castle Rock and were wondering whether it has nice rec centers like in Highlands Ranch. Their Rec Center are very impressive!! If not, can one use the Highlands Ranch facilities for a fee?

There is a guest fee, but you have to go with a member.

Castle Rock is different that Highlands Ranch in a couple of ways - there is only one rec center in Castle Rock, but yes, it is very nice. It was recently renovated/added on to and has very nice amenities, loads of classes, lap and liesure pools, ball courts, etc. If you live in CR, you pay a resident discount fee to use the center and if you don't, you can still use it for a higher fee. You can buy a pass for an amount of time (daily, 3 months, yearly, etc) or a "punch pass" for a certain number of visits. The rec center is fairly centrally located near "the Rock" and downtown. I have also used the South Suburban rec center in Lonetree (for a class for my son that worked better with our schedule) and there you just pay a higher "out of district" fee. Parker's rec center is also nice and they just added a field house. Theirs works the same way - anyone can use but residents get a discount.

I don't know if this is true of all of Highlands Ranch, but my husband's friends who live there have the rec center usage fee incorporated into the HOA dues. For example, the HOA dues may be $110 per month but the family can use any rec center in HR (so not so great for folks who don't take advantage of the rec centers). Our Castle Rock HOA dues are $55/month which includes a summertime community pool, but is not affiliated with the rec center. Maybe someone from HR will chime in. It is also my understanding that you can only use the HR facilities if you live there or go in with someone who does as their guest. I can't comment on specific differences between HR and CR facilities because I have never used the HR facilities for that reason....

Yes, HR HOA dues are $118 a quarter and this includes use of all four rec centers as well as lots of discounts for activities around HR. Guests may only accompany a member and there is a limit on the number of guests a person can bring.

All four centers have lots to offer, although eachhas something unique to enjoy. Batting cages at one, rock wall at another, etc.
