Looking to move to either South Aurora or Parker in 6 months or so. Interested In hearing opinions on Cherry Creek District vs Douglas County Schools. Currently have an 8 yr old, 5 yr old and 2 yr old. Which individual schools are the best? Want elementary school with lots of parent involvement. Thanks!

I heard that Denver Christian and Lutheran Parker High Schools merged up there. Don't know about the grade and middle schools, but those kids get a good bit of parent involvement.

I would say that Cherry Creek HS the schools that feed into it are the best schools in the area.

Pros: a lot of really smart, high-achieving students are at the school, and the culture at the school values academics, arts, activities and sports equally. There are a lot of enrichment activities for students and electives have not been cut.

Con: It is very large (3500 students) and it doesn't work for everyone -- especially students who cannot handle the freedom the school offers.

When you visit the high schools in the area, they will always measure up their schools to Cherry Creek. Even they know that the school is the standard to reach.
