Hello everyone
Sorry to bother you all and sorry if my english is not so great
I am from Europe and I am a student at American College. I got the opportunity to go to Colorado Springs for 6 months co-op. That's next summer and fall, just when I pass classes that I have to take this year.

I've already been in the states for several times and enjoyes it, but never been to Colorado. I am worried about how am I going to fit in and adapt, how can I find apartment that won't eat my whole salary, is it a good idea to buy or to rent a car because when I have days off I might want to go to the mall or some other town...
And climate also, we have very mild winters and very hot summers. How about Colorado? What clothes do I have to take with me?

I am afraid actually that I'm going to be totally lost and that I might regret my decision. People in my town are pretty greedy and just seek money so I am used on that kind of treating, but still it's not the same when you are in your country and when you are in a foreign country.
If somebody has any idea, where should I start? Where can I rent apartment that is close to the Broadmoor hotel? Where to buy some cheap car? Thank you all

If you are coming to work at the Broadmoor then the Human Resources Department should be able to help you find housing, or put you in touch with other J-1's to room together.

The climate will be warm-hot summers, cool to cold winters, but it is a dry climate with lots of sunshine and very enjoyable.

People in Colorado are generally not money obsessed, we all want to make a living, but we enjoy nature and the outdoors too.

Hopefully someone closer to Colorado Springs can give you some additional information.

I arrived here in Colorado Springs just a little over a month ago from the Philippines and it's been great. People are so far have been very friendly. Love the weather including the 2 times it snowed here this month You can rent apartments around town and would be better that you buy a cheap car so you will be able to get around.
