My husband and I are looking to relocate with our two kids, 3 and 4,within the next year. We have narrowed our search to the bailey area or evergreen. We would like to live outside of Jefferson County, but wouldn't mind the border of it. We are very interested in any info on kings Murphy school and Platte canyon school district. We plan on staying and raising our children in a community. I'm a clinical social worker and have a lot of flexibility in my job. Although a small private practice would be ideal. My husband will be working out of our home. We are looking for a home with 4+ acres, 3bd, 2ba under $300000. Any feedback and suggestions would be great. Thank you!

As a social worker, you will probably be commuting to Denver to find work (from either Bailey area or Evergreen). There are a couple of small private practices in those areas but I would imagine that niche has been filled by already established local professionals. Park county does have a social services office and I've seen them hiring social workers occasionally to work out of Bailey or Fairplay.

I've heard nothing but good things about Platte Canyon school district - very highly regarded. Of course, Evergreen schools are not too shabby either.

For your price range and the acreage you are seeking, Bailey would get you much more bang for your buck.

For more details from the locals, check out the forums on Pinecam.com and 285bound.com (referring to the hwy 285 corridor.)

Yes, we currently have septic system where we live in Montana. We couldn't do a well because of the water table being so far down. Sounds like you have more information. I'm definitely interested!
