Hi,
I am moving from New York to Durango and would like to know the best way to find an apartment. My idea is to find some roomates so it will cost less and so it would be easier to meet people. Also what are some other good ways to meet people there? I have looked at the Herald but there is not much there. Any information you can give me on the town would be amazing!

Thanks!

The Durango Herald (their local paper) and Craigslist would be additional sources of such information. On Craigslist you'll need to look under either High Rockies or Western Slope I think. Just type "Durango" into the search for either one of those categories.

Unless my browser is failing to interface correctly with it, padmapper has no Durango listings.

Craigslist is the best bet beyond the newspaper for shared housing. western slope rooms & shares classifieds - craigslist

I get nothing with padmapper.com but I do get tons of stuff with craigslist, subject to the usual possible scam artists.

Perhaps padmapper is more geared toward larger metro areas. Here are the current listings in the local paper:

The Durango Herald | Durango Colorado Classifieds: Announcements, Employment, Merchandise, Farmers Market, Pets, Real Estate and Transportation
