Stop it, your making me jealous. I left Wa because of too much rain and overcast, left texas because of the terrible humidity, now I wanna leave colorado because of too much snow all the time. Just did my driveway and its covered under a inch of snow already. Im not sure what the point was.

I can't find a list of record highs for January right now, but my experience tells me they are all at least in the 60s, with a few in the 70s. You may need to break out the shorts.

Go ahead and break out the shorts, but make darn sure that you keep the winter gear out and handy.......you folks will still have more snow to come! Possibly all the way up to Mother's Day Weekend in May. Funny thing, I grew up on a farm just outside of Ft.Wayne, Indiana and (from what I remember) we never had snow until around Thanksgiving and it ended in March. They have a saying there "April showers bring May flowers". Not only that, I remember (during high school years), getting up at 5:30AM, putting on my winter coat/gloves and heading down to our barn to feed/water livestock. You Forum folks who didn't have to do that, just don't know what you missed (only kidding). Today, no more farming......thank God.

Maybe the hot baking heat of Arizona...4 months of misery, followed by 8 months of bliss. You could probably say the same thing about here in Colorado, but I wont need a shovel for the driveway. Besides, it got very hot here in the summer. I don't mind heat as long as its not accompanied by nasty humidity. Eventually I would like to move to some California beach community.

I live in Phoenix right now and we're getting ready to trade our heat for your snow. I'm sick and tired of living in 100+ weather from April to NOvember. Whoever tells you it's only 4 months of blistering heat is lying. Seriously, I think we were in the 100's all the way through Halloween, my son couldn't even wear his halloween costume because it was too hot. I will admit that December to March is pure bliss, no doubt about it. But, it's just not worth it to us anymore. We'll come and visit and our family during those times.

well...your making those overcast skys of the Pac NW look pretty good actually. Do you really have 7 months of horrible heat? wow Thanks for the warning. I was never told that it only last 4 months, I was just guessing.

Here are the facts:
* Phoenix in the summer is HOT, no doubt, but it offers great temperatures from November thru March. It is an ideal winter weather getaway. Now, from April thru October it can and will get VERY HOT. Most outdoor activities are done at night during that period. Sunrise and sundown are also peak outdoor activity periods during that time.
* Colorado can be VERY cold and VERY snowy in the winter. More people DIE due to cold weather snow and ice. More accidents happen due to snow and ice. It can be FRIGID cold and we can get A LOT of snow. We are talking about the Denver metro area.
It all comes down to PERSONAL CHOICE. Some people HATE the cold and snow, others HATE the heat. One is not "better" than the other, it depends on the person.
I was in Phoenix and it was a 110F. I hated it, and drove north to Prescott to get out of the heat. I was in Denver when it was -10F with the wind chill and it was icy and snowy. I hated it.
That is the point. Each has its pros and cons. One is NOT better than the other. It comes down to personal choice...
