Colorado Pics! (Pueblo, Longmont, Highlands Ranch: vacation, jobs, house)

Wow...so many amazing photos in this thread! Thank you to everyone for a trip down memory lane. I was fortunate to live in Fort Collins in 2001-02 and absolutely loved it! Travelled all over the state, and spent many days in the backcountry. I'm now living in NC, but hope to make it back to Colorado someday.

Everytime there is a Broncos game, a photojournalist takes a 400mm (or more) zoom lenses and shows these amazing looking shots, which are beautiful but nothing like what you'll see at a real game ... or anywhere in the city for that matter.

The best views I've seen in Denver are down in Cherry Hills or Highlands Ranch on the higher lots with greenbelt frontage.

You normally won't see as much in Ft. Collins as your do in Denver. The view in Boulder is far superior to the views in Denver. Actually, Co. Springs is pretty nice (more like SLC views) ... but Fort Collins has aways made themselves look more mountainous that they really are. Some small foothills (hogbacks) are just West of the city and not particular scenic, not ugly, just average, kind of like the view from Littleton of the foothills to the West.

ReallY? Wow, I didn't know that. Pictures of the water scenes. don't see alot of boats. Is that a common occurence to not see a lot boats?

Well, none of the front range cities are particularly mountainous...they're all in the plains at the foot of the mountains. That said, when I lived in SW Fort Collins, I could see Horsetooth Mountain (in the foothills but still a cool view) as well as Longs Peak and the Mummy Range in Rocky Mtn Natl Park. Not quite a SLC-caliber view, but pretty nice nonetheless...and a lot better than the view from my current home in Raleigh, NC!

I agree, the snowstorms would really bring neighbors together, although I am not interested in shoveling this kind of snow ever again.
