Case in point of why I don't place any value whatsoever on these type of rankings.

"Aurora and Colorado Springs have recently been named two of Forbes' top 10 safest cities in America, prompting some bewildered reactions from Coloradans."

That bewilderment would be an understatement in my opinion.

This is part of the problem "Only cities with populations over 250,000 were included in the study."

Only 3 to choose from in CO

The article said in the country, not in the state.

AURORA???? Isn't that like the gang, violent crime, murder capital of the state? All I see on the Denver news is crime after crime in Aurora. I would hate to see how bad crime is in the cities that were not picked.

I knew people would jump in on Aurora saying how crime ridden it is. The part of Aurora i use to live in was very safe, and I never had problem with crime.

Again, as I said before, it's pointless to discuss safety about an entire city. It's much more realistic to talk about it on a neighborhood level.

No, it's not. Aurora is a city of >300,000 people with all different kinds of areas, most of it good, and about 1/4 of it is really nice.

I have friends that live in Aurora that I visit frequently. They live in a very nice, quiet neighborhood. They've lived there around 10 years and have never had any problems with crime in their surrounding area.
