In the late '60s, I attended the University Of Tampa. During that time, I learned to dislike Florida with a passion. Since I left in '69, I've never been back, nor have I had even the mildest desire to go back. Much to my chagrin, I didn't realize it when I initially moved to VirginiaBeach, but the climate there was much the same as Florida, though the uncomfortbale season was significantly shorter. Being close to the beach made little difference during the months of June, July, August and the first half of September. During those months, the discomfort index was every bit as miserable as Florida.

In your case, I think the decision comes down to whether you want the big-city, multicultural environment of south Florida, or the laid-back, less diverse environment of Colorado. Do you prefer nightclubs, South Americans, Cuban restaurants, retired New Yorkers and international flights to the Caribbean? Or do you prefer long drives to small towns, Subarus, yuppies, and small Main Streets?
