Default Nights cooling off

I've been watching the weather in Denver, Castle Rock, and Colorado Springs and it looks like the overnight lows are getting into the low 40's. Do you need the heater at night yet? Or are your houses insulated enough to hold onto the day's heat for a while. I live in a 40 year old house in SoCal with NO insulation in the outside walls and the thinnest single pane windows you can imagine (typical construction for the 1960's and 70's here) so when its 40 degrees outside at night, we need the heater.

In the 30's overnight here at 9,000' in Summit County. House is 11 years old. Haven't needed the heat yet -- lots of sunshine streaming in through the windows during the day.

getting cooler but not bad. NO heater is needed. In fact, the cooler air is great. We live the backyard screen door open (i.e locked but open) and it is great.

Man, I wish I was back in Colorado! Today here in Phoenix it was 107 degrees. Actually, this is cooler than it has been-- it was over 110 for almost a month. Nights won't cool off here until November at the earliest. Just eight more months, and I'm out of here!

Ugh I don't know how you take it down there. I can just barely tolerate hot days as long as the nights are cool. But throw in 80-90 degree nights and forget it.

Just to take the edge off first thing in the morning and when I get home from work. I seem to feel the cold more than most people.

At 8am this morning the outside temperature read 32F in Silverthorne. And frost on the ground. High today forecasted to be 75.

The aspens around us are slowly starting to turn. I can see a yellowish clump at the top near Ptarmigan Peak.

That's surprising. From the topo maps, it looks like most of Evergreen (around Evergreen Lake) is between 7,000-7,400'. Is your place up on one of the ridges beyond town? I really don't know Evergreen too well.
