how's the weather in oct. we'll be coming from california to visit the grand kids. were thinking of going the 15 to the 70 and then come back on the 40. we want to see the different places on the way. should we pack winter clothes.

It's fall in Colorado. You will need shorts, t-shirts, swimsuits, pants, sweater, jacket, woolens, mits, rain coat, wellies, wind-breaker, light sweater, mid-weight sweater, wool socks, flip-flops... Anyways, weather in Colorado is very unpredictable in the fall. They are predicting snow above 10,000ft tonight. Plan on jeans and long sleeve shirt, since you may go into the hi country atleast a windbreaker (rain worthy) and a fleecy jacket should do the trick. Layers, layers, layers...
