Info on Dry Creek Basin SWA area (Grand Junction, Montrose: rentals, subdivisions)

I may have a good job opportunity become available in the area and was wandering about the travel distance to amenities ie. Grocery stores, restaurants, hospitals and whatnot.

Maybe save everyone a little time, and maybe get some responses, by letting people know where Dry Creek Basin SWA is located. I Googled it and found it on highway 141 south of Naturita. You can do a Google Maps look at Naturita and see what's there. Closest larger town would be Ridgway (large being relative) which is probably an hour from Naturita.

Hopefully someone more familiar with the area can chime in.

Both Naturita and Nucla are small towns and they are probably 15 miles away. Both towns are about 1000 each in population. You have mom and pop businesses there only. It's over a hundred miles from Montrose, Cortez, and Grand Junction. It's a pretty remote part of western Colorado. No Safeways, Walmarts, etc., or anything like that located here. Definite small town living and certainly not for everybody. But a lot of friendly folks live there, I donated a number of CD's and books to Naturita's public library so I get through there a time or two a year, sometimes more.

Not sure what you would find for rentals besides Craigslist. The San Miguel Town Forum is its newspaper. You wont see tourists there, the communities aren't known for subdivisions or homeowner associations. There has been little development there for decades. I'll dm a message to ya later regarding the area but this is a good start anyway. These towns have not been discussed on the forum very much. It would be a good idea to visit first. I tend to stick up for towns like these as this area was economically depressed for a long time when the Union Carbide plant shut down in the early 1980's.
