To take care of? Or buy? How big a ranch? Horses? Cattle?
What kind of electrician? Independent? Union?
What is your price range for purchasing? or Renting?
Do you have kids?
Do you care about amenities? Schools? Shopping? Clubs? etc.

take a look at "the caretaker gazette" or "The Fence Post" for job ads seeking ranch help and caretaking help. There's a fair number of those kinds of job situations around, with a bit or turnover.
We've got friends who found jobs in SE and NW Wyoming through these sources.
Be prepared for long hours, low pay, and a lot of hard work at times ... the offset is an interesting lifestyle, with some situations giving you a lot of independence and responsibility.
I knew of one couple who got into a situation we looked long and hard at doing ... $130,000/year for the couple to manage a private hunting/fishing/cattle ranch with a private golf-course. A very nice house provided, plus beef and a generous food allowance, 401K, health & life insurance. Quite the complete package for a kinowledgeable mechanic, livestock operator, golf course maintenance head, housekeeper, and part-time cook (when the owners/guests were at the place, maybe 20 weeks/year). The thing that held us up was a requirement to be ready to be the "fourth" for a round of golf or a hand of bridge ... you had to be good at those things, and sociable enough to mix with the guests/owners party. Neither of us play golf, and my bridge game is non-existent as we don't play cards. Time off was pretty minimal, too ... as you had to have the six guest houses and owners "cabin" ready for guests on a couple hours notice for when they'd decide to fly in for a visit. Plowing or mowing the runway was part of the chores. On the face of it, a wonderful opportunity ... on the other hand, way too much work for two people to perform if there were a lot of guests. Did I mention we had to keep the horses in shape and wrangle them for the less capable guest riders?

Well what we would love to have is a hunting ranch being my husband was a lic. guide and we have four children old enough to help. I would do the bookkeeping and my two girls could do the housekeeping... the other two boys are outside workers.
my husband was in the Union, then went to the county to work.
but what we would love to do is find a ranch to care take with a house included...
kinda what you just talked about.
getting out of california would be a dream....

My husband has been an electrician for 20+ years he was in the Union but went to the county to work.
price range in renting right now... just to find out the range of rent for a 3 bedroom house
schools are on the list also, what do you mean by amenities.
we also have dogs.. just had a litter of lab pups that are for sale so it would be only four dogs going with us.

Also, check the ads in regional farm/ranch papers.
We just got our current edition of The Wyoming Livestock Roundup and it's got several ads for ranch/farm situations such as you're seeking. Most are in NWyoming and into Montana, with a couple in NE.

I am interested in working as a care taker for a llama ranch or a lodge in NE New Mexico or South East Colorado. I have 4 llamas, 2 goats, one horse.
I would appreciate any info to such a post. Thanks...
