Default Colorado Mtn College

I am a 21 year old Marine looking for a college to attend in Colorado. I am currently looking at Colorado Mtn College. Can anyone help me out with info about the school and area. I am also open to suggestions for just about anywhere in Colorado to go to school. 2 or 4 year schools, preferably not in a city, but not that big of a deal. I also like snowboarding so close enough to a resort would be a plus.

Thanks for the help

do it in leadville its much cheaper than any of the other campuses breck, vail, aspen, g-springs, steam boat, are gonna cost out the A!@, leadville would be a good place and your only 20 min to breck from there world class skiing but if your looking to go to school and work work may be hard to find in leadville as the economy there is depressed....god luck man!!!

It depends on which campus of Colorado Mountain College you are looking at. There are several campuses now. Leadville is a good place to live if you are young and enjoy snowboarding. It is at 10,000 feet though and can be cold in the winter. You might be able to find a job at the ski resorts too. Ski Cooper is a small mountain that is very close to Leadville so you wouldn't have to drive down to Vail or Copper Mountain. I have friends that live there and one works construction down in Summit County. He has a 45-1 hour drive, but makes great money.

Buena Vista has a new Colorado Mountain College campus. The location is absolutely beautiful, but pretty remote. Probably not the best place if you are single.

Glenwood Springs is a beautiful town and close to some world class skiing in Aspen. However, the cost of living would probably make it difficult for you find a rental, unless the college has some affordable housing.

I think Steamboat Springs has a campus also. Again you are right there with some world class skiing and snowboarding, but cost of living is high.

Have you considered some of the other colleges in CO? Western State in Gunnison is a 4 year University and a great place to live. Fort Lewis in Durango is another good school and Durango is an awesome place.

Good Luck on your college search!

Highly depends on what you intend to major in. Alpine is prominent with its sciences and West Garfield phenomenal with its energy. Are you only aiming for an associates or going to transfer in order to get your bachelors?
