Not only that, but depending on the time of year you fly out, it could be either sweltering hot or freezing cold. Flying with dogs is hard, especially two large ones. I've flown with my lab before and I won't ever do it again. It was really hard on her.

Honestly, the dogs will be much happier to drive. Even though you are dreading a drive, it will be much better for the pooches in the end.

We paid $3800.00 for the movers to move here from Dallas in October, sold one car and drove the other. As mentioned by Mike, we also had the cats plus documents and a few other things we wanted to move ourselves in the car.

I would probably be more willing to do that from a shorter distance. I think we are nearly 1800 miles though.
