I have been looking at property in Cheyenne, WY but I have had people tell me the wind is not as bad in N. CO? Do you think this is true? What areas do you recommend for horses? I need flat pasture land and want to be close to good trails. I am not into the city life.

Default Not sure it matters....

....Cheyenne is only 10-12 miles north of the CO border. I can't imagine this makes much difference as to the amount of wind.

There is no shortage of flat land there. A realtor should have all sorts of info as to what properties are available.

Find a realtor who's also a horse person and you should get info on trails too.

I think WY has no income tax, you may want to crank that into your decision process for where to live.

I've always thought the wind was worse in Wyoming, but of course I don't have any facts to back this up. All the land is flat so you are going to experience a lot of wind no matter if you are in CO or WY.
