We are Michigan ski patrollers considering spending next ski season in our travel trailer in Summit County. What will we need to know /do to survive?

Have lots of gasoline to run your Onan generator.

There are RV "villages" with full hook-ups in the area.

Which ski area do you plan to work at?

I would think it depends upon the RV. I know some are better insulated than others and least travel trailers differ. Friends of ours lived in an RV last winter here while building a home. Mild winter compared to this winter and much warmer that ski resorts. They banked up the bottom with hay bales. Still had pipes freeze. Electric taped the pipes. That worked but they still about froze. They said the furnace ran continuously. They added one of those heaters, electric, that are being advertized so much in Parade mag. etc. Safe, don't use oxygen, cannot catch anything on fire, like reg. eletric heater. Heats copper lining then shuts down. Cool to touch. Fan run. 2 sizes, they bought large, around 500 dollars, I think. They said it worked and now use it to help keep the propane cost down, in the new home this winter. Cheaper, they say. This is all second hand. So take it how it is intended.

Hey! If you're used to Michigan winters, ours will be easy. (Have you lived in your RV in Michigan through the winter...?)
