Info on Granby, Colorado (for rent, house, to buy)

Can you tell me a little more about this town? And Grand Elk community...

We might be relocating to this area from Phoenix Arizona...

We are a young couple with three kids-5, 4, and 1 1/2. How are the schools? What are home prices like? What is there to do? Coffee Shops? Weather? Etc...

Any info is greatly appreciated! Thanks!

it's very small. there is a nice, big lake there and they have a pretty good 4th of july celebration. that's pretty much all i know about it.

There was a local crazy man that took a big tank and drove it through all the buildings on main street about 3 years ago. I think the town has rebuilt since then. That is not to scare you. It really showed what kind of town it was because all the locals stuck together and helped each other during this terrible time. It is a really close, tight knit community with wonderful people. I think the town is generally very quiet and peaceful. There is not a whole lot there.

Can you tell me anything about the Grand Elk community that looks like it is fairly new there? Thanks!

Do you have a job taking you to that area? Or what exactly are you looking for? I am not familiar with the Grand Elk Community. I just know a little about Grandby because I helped out with the whole tank incident. Everyone was really good to us there.

My husband actually is working with a company that is building 4 different communities in that area. That is why we are moving there.

We aren't exactly wanting to buy or build in the Grand Elk community, just in or near Granby. We are wanting to rent for a while, until we get used to the area, but we are having the WORST time trying to find a house that we can rent on a monthly basis, as everything is by the week or night.

You may want to try to put an ad on craigs list or look there and see if anyone has a house for rent there. Or check with local property management companies. Good Luck to you.
