Ain't that the truth. Nothing but spin, exaggeration and the big lies that swirl around the nation in viral emails pumped out by the dozens from political operatives.

"...obama's EPA policies that are working to shut down energy production..."
The EPA is here for a reason, nothing wrong with reducing pollution....and no ones going to be blacked out, that's just more stupid GOP fear-mongering.

"...a president that dead set on tearing down the American way of life and American success..."
Total garbage. No one is tearing down our way of life, except for maybe the Koch Bros who are determined to wipe out unions of all sorts so they and their ilk can lower people's wages even more. Kiss the middle class life goodbye, go ahead, vote for them, vote against your own best interests.

"...It's not even about parties either, to me it's about right and wrong and you either believe in top down authoritarian government or individual freedom and sovereignty where the role of government is minimized in our daily lives..."
Incomprehensible and ludicrous. The false choice of either/or, no middle ground, our way or else. It's the GOP that can't keep it's nose out of our daily lives....telling people who they can/cannot marry.... telling women what they can and cannot do with their own bodies... all the while shouting about getting government out of our lives and off our backs.

"...I do not personally hate the individual but I hate his policies,..."
Biggest crock yet. You hate him with a burning passion like so many millions do. From the day he took office, haters have been going after him hammer and tongs, with all sorts of accusations and hatefulness. There's nothing wrong with making sure people can see a doctor, nothing wrong with ending the amazing stupid war in Iraq that the idiot Bush charged into like a drunk cowboy shooting from the hip, nothing wrong with the stimulus to get people back to work and money moving through the economy.

"...I know as a student of history..."
Good grief. You've perverted every piece of history anyone has mentioned here and posted the GOP revisionist nonsense that seeks to make every DEM in all of history to be a bad guy. Please, stop it.

You're just repeating the usual Beck/Limbaugh/Malkin/Coulter/GOP/hater viral emails, which I get a dozen of every day from my pals.

I'm not going to waste any more of my time dealing with the insanities you post.

In fact "the platform" that has been adopted by the GOP is from the Ron Paul wing and that revolves around internet freedom and keeping government offline with the exception of illegal activities going on.

Plenty of us Republicans like naked women so I think you are safe. And if you are into gay polish midget porn, we don't really care about that. In fact we'd not even want to know that you are into that.
Mike didn't say he had a porn collection. He gave it as an example of a contradiction between GOP principles and actions.

But that's how you folks work -- guilt by association and making people afraid to speak out.

There isn't a problem with helping people that are in that situation. And as it stood in the Great Depression it was more often than not a private charity helping at a local level.

However to cite the Great Depression as some great triumph of leftist policies is hilarious. It was those policies which kept driving the economy back down and preventing the economy.

Had not the government kept meddling in the economy and strangling it with high taxes and regulation, it would have been like the Panic of 1907 or 1920 where the economy would have recovered in months.

Roosevelt did the same thing obama does. They collapse the economy and slow down economic activity with tons of taxes and regulations and then hand you back some freebies like condoms or soup or a job to build picnic tables and then they can act like they are the great savior when it was them who compounded the problem in the first place.

One big problem I see in the world is people just always look at what people say, but not what they do. I think those that hail these utopians and how great they believe they are, should put their wonderfully pragmatic analytic minds to work and start examining all of those taxes and regulations that get passed in their name and the actual effect on people out there and what happened as a result.

obamacare is a great start. "Affordable Care Act", Unaffordable is more like it. 20 new taxes, 16000 IRS agents, health insurance costs are higher, millions of new dictates and regulations to be spawned from it, several Trillion dollars in debt to be added, etc.
I got called into work today right after this, and I'd like to get back to it. I've read a lot of revisionist stuff about the Depression on CD. The mantra from some is that Roosevelt's policies prolonged the Depression, that if the economy had been allowed to fix itself, it would have happened earlier.

First of all, no one can say that with any degree of authority. We do not know what would have happened under those circumstances. What we do know is that people were starving, literally. People who lived on farms said "at least we have enough to eat". Families split up, some went to live with one relative, some with another. I heard a retired pastor give a sermon about his own family that did so during the depression. Private charity did not begin to meet even close to all the needs. The suicide rate increased.

As far as this statement "Had not the government kept meddling in the economy and strangling it with high taxes and regulation, it would have been like the Panic of 1907 or 1920 where the economy would have recovered in months. ", that is totally false. It was several YEARS before anything was done to help anyone. (See link above)

Apparently he is not afraid to speak out. The problem is that there is "no action" and no platform to take away people's porno collections. Nor are we looking to take away condoms or any other phony scare issues the democrats cook up. So it's one thing if that actually was a party platform, but it isn't and we know all the phony saul alinsky tactics of cooking up false controversies and demonizing individuals with phony baloney nonsense and we are not falling for it.

They need all of the distractions they can to keep people from realizing obama has sunk us 6000 Billion more dollars in debt and the economy is in the tank with 2.5 million fewer jobs in the economy than back in 2008, among other major problems.

So it's funny to me, here we are in a major calamity with social security going broke, medicare going broke, health industry costs driven through the roof, thousands of billions of dollars in debt and a more dangerous world out there and the democrats party platform is not to fix any of that, not to offer any solutions for that, not to pass a budget in the senate(like 1300 days now with no budget) but no, rather the Republicans want to take your porno and condoms away, let the earth warm by 0.2 degrees F and that more electricity will put us in the dark ages?

OK.

Another reason we need to get these baby boomers out of government with all of their hysteria, apocalyptic visions and self centered behavior. It's so childish and immature they harp on this nonsense while they destroy the country for the younger people. And laugh while doing it.

Wow.

I am speechless. Where to begin.

The amount of CO2 in the atmosphere has increased dramatically since the year 1800 and the advent of the Industrial Revolution. It was at that time that humans began burning fossil fuels in great quantities.

While it is true that human CO2 emissions represent a small part of the total CO2 output, it represents an amount that the earth is unable to absorb. In other words, each year the earth naturally produces about 771 gigatons of CO2 and naturally can absorb 778 gigatons. When human produced CO2 emissions remain below about 10 gigatons, the earth can remain in some semblance of a CO2 balance. However, human CO2 emissions represent about 29 gigatons per year resulting in a CO2 surplus of about 20 gigatons per year. Each year humans pour about 20 more gigatons of CO2 into the atmosphere than the earth can absorb, and that adds up. To put it into terms you can understand, it's not one or two yearly budget deficits that hurt us, it is the accumulation of many budget deficits that lead a problem

Global Warming (or climate change, if you prefer) has resulted in:

1. The average monthly temperatures exceeding the 20th century average for 329 consecutive months (a period of nearly 27.5 years). The odds of this happening randomly are considerably higher than the odds of winning the lottery.

2. The northern ice cap melting to its historic lowest point with 3 weeks still left in the melting season. Each decade since the 1980s has seen a lower average. Additionally, the ice sheets in Greenland and Antarctica have started melting at a rate much faster than predicted.

3. Liberal groups like, the United States Military, declaring that climate change is an accellerant of instability and conflict.

There is a difference between climate and weather. Climate is a long term average, weather is what occurs on a day-to-day basis. Cherry-picking statistics about one colder than normal winter does not constitute proof that the long term average isn't increasing.

The refusal to accept the science of climate change is indicative of the Republicans' refusal to accept the findings of scientists that do not fit their view of the world.

You know David, I don't think it even has to do with acceptance. I think the followers of the republican illusion, damn well know that climate change is real, but they've been told to pretend that it's a hoax, and like the good boys and girls they imagine themselves to be, the keep mouthing back exactly what they are told to say.....over and over again ad infinitum.

Exactly, that's why it's pointless to try and school the Paul Parrot dittoheads.

Mike...you would have to mention Poll Parrot. Now this old time shoe commercial jingle is playin in my head. But it sure beats wanneroos tired and worn out conservative drivel. At least this jingle makes some sense.

"Poll parrot. Poll Parrot.
They're the shoes you want to buy.
They make your feet run faster,
As fast as I can fly.
Squawk!
Poll Parrot!!!"
