Are there any ski areas similar to Breckenridge in regards to shops and a town next to the mountain. She is pregnant and will not be skiing this season. I wanted to make sure there is plenty for her to do while I hit the slopes.

A very nice ski lodge will also suffice instead of a town. Just somewhere comfortable for her to spend the day and not get bored. Thanks.

Vail. Vail Village has a lot to do besides skiing.

I think many of the Colorado resorts offer plenty to do besides skiing. I would recommend Telluride if you've never been. It's absolutely beautiful and has a great town with easy access to the slopes. Vail is also a great recommendation, especially if you need to be closer to Denver. Winter Park has a nice lodge and a bit of shopping, although it's been years since I've been there.

She can drop you at Keystone or A-Basin and spend the day in Silverthorne while you hit the slopes. Vail is a good choice if you guys have extra cash to burn but I'm willing to bet, with a baby on the way, you guys would rather save instead of spend. Breck is pricey too but all ski towns will be during the bustle of ski season but Vail especially. You gotta remember that's a world-class town with celebrities, professional athletes, celebrity chefs, and so on during peak times.

If she doesn't mind driving you, Loveland is only 45 minutes from Denver and Eldora is roughly the same traffic contingent. Have her drop you then she can spend the day at home.
