Hello everyone!

I have landed a job in Castle Pines and am now looking for places to live. While I have one location only 15 minutes from my work, I have another option in Golden, CO. The distance is about 36 miles... I'm familiar with lengthy commutes, but am wondering how natives and current residents feel this drive would be. Would this drive be too much considering weather conditions and/or congestion?

Thanks for your time! I appreciate any help!

From Golden down C-470 is actually not a bad drive. I like C-470. Once you get to I-25 the mess begins. I've never seen traffic stopped on C-470, I-25 down there is a whole 'nother story. I'd seriously reconsider your "15 minutes from work" option.

Traffic on C470 can get really backed up. I've seen westbound be a parking lot from I-25 to University during afternoon rush hour. Of course, you could go west out of Castle Pines to Santa Fe and go north on there to C470.

I would think there are plenty of great places to live in Highlands Ranch, Centennial, and Littleton without having to drive all the way to Golden.

Golden to Castle Pines? Only way I would do that is if I already lived in Golden, I had kids in school in Golden, all of my family and friends lived in Golden (*and* it was important to me that I live near them), I loved my house, and hoped to stay in that house in Golden it for the rest of my life.

In other words, if I lived in Golden, and were offered my dream job in Castle Pines, I'd take the job, and deal with the commute; it's not impossible.

There are plenty of good places close to Castle Pines. Why not choose one of them?
