Howling cold winds and rain now. Don't care about these stupid winds, but it can rain all month and I'll be happy.

It's snowing nicely in Vail right now.

We still have a good month or 2 left of winter. I have seen this happen before with a big warm up in March, only to get totally clobbered for a few weeks in late March and April. Don't be fooled.

.10" rain over the past 24 hours, pfft.

A vigorous cold front will move over the area today bringing mountain snows and gusty winds to the northern valleys. A winter weather advisory has been issued for the northern and central mountains for snow accumulations of 3 to 8 inches through 6pm this evening. Aside from the snow, gusty winds in the mountains will reach up to 50 mph which will create areas of blowing snow dropping visibilities to less than 1/4 mile at times. Gusty winds are also expected over the northern valleys and the Uinta basin so a wind advisory has been issued from noon through 7pm for west winds of 25 to 35 mph with gusts upwards of 45 mph. Once this system moves through tonight, ridging will build in for Monday and Tuesday until the next system brings another round of rain and snow Wednesday and Thursday.

Too windy in Boulder. I don't like it when it's above just a breeze. If the wind brings the rain, sure, I'll take them both as long as the rain comes (or snow). But just wind does not make a happy me. :<

Another minor system moving in today, rain and snow forecast with a few inches for the San Juans. Overcast and cool this morning here. Had a couple of trees blown down by the winds the other day, and I have no idea where my birdbath is. Found a neighbors lawn chair in my backyard.

A weak and quick moving disturbance will move through the southern portion of the region, generating some increasing cloud cover today. This disturbance may also generate some light snow showers over the San Juan mountains, but little accumulation is expected. There will be a warm-up to slightly above normal values today through Wednesday, with increasing clouds ahead of an approaching storm system. This storm system will impact the region Wednesday into Thursday, bringing mountain snow and valley rain. Unsettled conditions look to remain over the area through the weekend, with a return to unseasonably cool temperatures.

I wonder how much water we could save if HOAs gave up their precious Kentucky Blue Grass?
