It was 50 degrees today, then the wind started, thick clouds and now VERY heavy snow.

Nice! The snow is starting on the front range as well. I am hearing that Canon City is having moderate to heavy snow as well as Walsenburg and just south of Pueblo near Hatchet Ranch they have had thunder snow. Just flurries in downtown Pueblo but its cold.

The national weather service in grand junction has issued a winter weather advisory for snow...which is in effect until noon mst thursday. * timing...occasional snow showers will continue through thursday morning. * snow accumulation...3 to 6 inches. * visibility...down to around 1 mile at times. * impacts...expect icy and snowpacked roads. Precautionary/preparedness actions... A winter weather advisory means that periods of snow and/or blowing snow will cause travel difficulties. Be prepared for slippery roads and limited visibilities...and use caution while driving.

About 6 inches of snow on the ground here near UCCS. Looks like it's mostly petered out for now, though, and radar seems to confirm that. Though it looks like me may get a bit more early-morning. Welcome precipitation, for sure. And the storm next week may deliver another 6 inches, we can only hope.

Certainly not six inches in downtown COS yet. I just measured and it's about 3.5 tops.

The low pressure tracked about 15 miles to far north so Fountain got the snow I thought Pueblo would. Because of that there was about 2-3 inches of snow at my house this morning.

That being said there is a chance for snow on Friday night then The NWS in Pueblo says a "significant" storm is going to hit us Sunday and the chance for accumulating snow is "likely"! Again I will keep my fingers crossed.
