The low pressure went further south then predicted so there is a update!

I now forecast 3-6 inches of snow at my house as I already had 3 inches this morning.

At 10 am the NWS reported that Pueblo had heavy snow and fog reducing the visibility to less then 1 mile.

Cold and WINDY in GJ, but no snow. As jazzlover wrote in another post, this is desiccating wind.

Talking The Mini Blizzard of Spring 2013

Most people forget that March is our snowiest month of the year and April our second snowiest. That being said this storm took me by surprise and the NWS as they did not issues the advisory till early this morning after the snow started.

Here are some pictures:

This is Troy Ave on the east side of Pueblo just south of CSU Pueblo.

This is Highway 50 and Elizabeth by I-25 in the city of Pueblo.

This is Highway 50 still in the city. I was on my way to Pueblo West.

Highway 50 between Pueblo and Pueblo West. Near whiteout conditions.

Another picture of Highway 50 between Pueblo and Pueblo West.

Cool pix! Channel 9 in Denver said Louisville got 9.3 in by 2 PM yesterday. I can't find a total for later, though it's not likely to be more than another inch.

In Mesa County, where storms like this in March I fondly refer to as the 50/50/50 syndrome (50 snowflakes, 50 raindrops, and 50 mile an hour winds), we only got the wind. Grr!

We ended up with just a skosh under a foot of snow yesterday. We've had flurries on and off today but now it seems to be snowing in earnest. I love it, but the 2 degree low this am was a bit harsh for late March!

Sunny cool and HOWLING stupid winds. Of course everyone is burning fields and irrigation ditches so I get to enjoy a brown sky and the smell of smoke. Trees budding out, lawns turning green. What's "snow"?
