Not sure where exactly to put this within the Colorado forum, but here goes. Need some info on Telluride.

1) easiest way to get there from CA
2) good resorts in the area
3) kid-friendly activities in the area
4) restaurants
5) best time of year to go... we're not into skiing. we're looking at summer/fall and would like to partake in outdoor activities and mainly just soak up the scene.

Thanks so much.

Wink Telluride visit

In order:

Telluride has air service from a regional airport just north of town. Even though a transfer would be necessary, still the quickest access from California. Otherwise plan on a two day drive through often scenic and open country.

Check someone like Trip Advisor for lodging options; there are any number in town. There is a mountain village situated high above town, which may come closest to offering resorts. As far as I know this is primarily skier centric, with probably some summer activities.

Check on one's "resort" of choice to see what they offer in activities. Most of the activities, whether for kids or not, are of the outdoor nature, and some nightlife.

Good restaurant options in town, if more often probably somewhat pricey, with some surely seasonal.

Right now would be a fine time to visit, especially if interested in autumn color. Although with the height of summer past, some businesses may be closed and taking a break until the skiers of winter arrive. An advantage is it is quieter, and one has the town more to themselves than when bustling in summer and winter. It can be a lovely time of year. Expect summer temperatures always moderate in the mountains to begin with to be quickly verging towards autumn, with quite possibly clear warm days, followed as the sun sets by cool to cold evenings and early mornings.
