I’ve been wanting to try this project for some time and recently came across a discarded air heating solar panel so used this along with an antique coal burning laundry stove to make a solar space heater.

I thought some here might find this interesting.. Its running today, seems to work nicely

Wink Yeah

A little ad hoc, but creative. Do not see the provision for any damper, which may be advisable; even if the fan is off during cool periods, cold air itself will quickly seep through any crack and opportunity.

While many in Denver might care less about this type of thing, one can find sympathetic souls and much the same creativity in many fashions in and around Taos, NM.

Appreciate the feedback and I looked into the backflow issue. We of course have not seen the real cold weather yet but even with a fairly large temperature difference between the room where the stove is and the outside panel, I can not detect any cold air leakage (I tested this at night). I think it may because the heights of the input and output ducts are about the same in the room - but could be wrong... So far this space heater has done a nice job. I updated the link for the backflow
