If you want to live in a community your choices range from Florence itself, west to Canon City (pronounced "Canyon"), east to the small community of Penrose, on over to Pueblo, or even southern Colorado Springs in most weather. There are many threads on all these communities and you might use the search feature on these forums and then come back to ask more detailed questions.

In the meantime a visit to Zillow.com will give you a starting place for information on rentals.

Since you've never been there, you may want to call the City Hall and talk with the City Clerk. They usually have lots of helpful information. Also, Florence does have a website where you can check out the town, with links to the Chamber of Commerce website. The Chamber seems to have some helpful information. With a population of almost 4,000, you should be able to find housing to suit your needs. You can check the ratings of the schools at a site called GreatSchools - Public and Private School Ratings, Reviews and Parent Community.

We've a lot of info on Florence, Canon City, Pueblo West, Pueblo, etc already here in many threads.

Do an Advanced Search with these parameters:
- Keyword to search on is the name of any of those towns
- Search on TITLES only
- Show THREADS only (not posts)
- Search area is COLORADO

There are a half dozen (or more) threads on each town. You'll get a ton of info instantly....
