C U next Tuesday.
Funny, Matthew Dowd said on one of the talk shows this morning that three things a campaign says when it's losing are:

1. The polls are skewed.
2. I don't believe in polls
3. The only poll that counts is election day

Cheer up though, I see CO is still in the tossup column on Intrade. However, VA is now leaning Obama so he's at 294.

Let's keep this about the election as it pertains to CO rather than political philosophies. My intent here was to focus on the horse race.

We have career politicians running the country who do so not as representatives of the people but representatives of their own portfolios. Political offices were intended to be a form of civil service, but we have strayed far from that ideal.
We have term limits for the President and he is still a very powerful man.

I think we have millions of capable people in this country that deserve a shot at public service.

Therefore, I think we need term limits in Congress and with the Supreme Court.

The House of Reps should be 12 years. Senate 12 years. Supreme Court one 15 year term.

There is no reason why we should have fossils like John Dingell in Michigan being in congress for almost 60 years and no reason why Supreme Court justices should be sitting there in dementia at 85 years old.

Term limits will bring in new blood and cut down on some of the establishment horse trading in congress.

The Homogonizer wrote: Romney will reduce discretionary spending except for discretionary military spending, which he will increase. Obama will maintain discretionary military spending, but increase other discretionary spending such as education.

Both are fascists. But one will buy more bullets; the other will buy more books.

Lesser evil: books or bullets?

You nailed it pretty good!

So I assume you'll be voting against your incumbent House member, yes?

I've noticed people only want term limits on others' reps but continue to vote for their own because "he's a good guy".

I've done that on many occasions...this year included.

All of my reps are on their first term. However I'm not going to vote for a leftist individual just for the sake of turning over an incumbent.

But it's time to change the rules going forward and create some turnover in what is supposed to be public service.
