We're thinking about making a move. I've been in the Northeast for 30 years, between upstate NY and Philly. I'm dreaming of real outdoor activities, sunny skies to run under and friendly neighbors. I like to think that I like the artsy parts of Philly, but the fact is that we rarely go to plays, orchestra, museums, etc. We're working on kids, but Philly's crime rate isn't too appealing. Sure the suburbs of Philly are a bit safer but the kids carry gucci purses at 7. We may miss Philly's liberal vibe though and our great friends. Should we make a move?

Hi! We just moved back to the Springs 3 weeks ago after living in the Philly burbs for about 5 years. (Warminster, Jamison) We used to live in NE Philly (Think old Nabisco plant) in the early 90's as well.

Let me see... how can I put this tactfully... DO IT! MOVE! :~)

Seriously, you will not miss the humidity and congestion. The people are nicer here as well. The cost of living is better and the economy seems to be good for jobs. Crime is better, auto insurance is cheaper and what you would have to pay for a home near Doylestown, you can live like a litteral king (or queen) in CS.

Well, if I can asnwer any specific questions, I'd be happy to. Moderator cut: removed - F

My wife was born in Jenkintown and now considers Colorado Springs "home."
