I don't know and I don't care. I respect him as an artist and I'm not a huge fan of him. To me, I see weed very much like alcohol and cigs. I think it's better to have it sold at the store with honest people rather than encountering a sketchy individual that sells and deals.

I don't disagree about the bold part but in my circle at least I've never heard anyone go illegal to get cigarettes or alcohol since you can buy it at the stores nearby. Unless they live in some dry area where alcohol is harder to get I don't see what the fuss is all about.
Tax free cigarettes have been a major underground trade for a long time and especially now with the extremely high taxes on them. Cigarette smuggling is a big business and just because you don't hear about it as much on the nightly news doesn't mean it's not going on.

Moonshine is still big business as well.

My point is that just because you make it legal doesn't mean there isn't going to be a major underground trade going on with all the associated issues connected to that. People make it sound like if it's legal it will solve all those issues in regards to organized crime, taxes, safety, etc.

How many 60 year old plus potheads do people know that are in fantastic health?

Of all of the people I have known over the long term that smoked on a regular basis from their teens and 20's were dead by their early 40's from cancer.

There have been tons of studies that link cannabis use to all sorts of cancers, not to mention the warping of the brain and decrease in cognitive function and IQ.

So it's better to keep it illegal because there will still be illegal sales even if it is legal?
Flawed logic.

So we shouldn't take steps to ensure safety and availability of pot?
It's better to go to a street dealer and be ripped off, get a product that has been tampered with, be subject to being beaten up and robbed.

No one is saying street dealers are going to go away as their target customers will be under 21yr of age.
But lets put some laws in place that do have some consequences for street dealers.

wow, what a reach and this post is down right wrong on all counts.
see post 97

it "warps" oh my gawd.
lower IQ.

I've taken IQ tests before I ever smoked pot and during being high and I just took one last year, I actually gained a few points.

The fact is that is not a carcinogen that turns your brain inside out.
I've got access to some of the best epidemiologists in the country who are brilliant individuals, so I'll take their word on it. I have asked them about it many times and even had a conversation yesterday about it. There are tons of studies out there done on it, but as expected the pot rationalizers cannot even do one finger typing on google to find out. I could put 100 studies down here and they'll still rationalize their use, so it's a waste of my time.

It is in fact a carcinogen and it is a psychoactive drug. Are you denying it is a psychoactive drug that affects your brain? If it wasn't people would not use it. It does have an impact on your brain short term and long term and again if people want to flush those chemicals through their body, they just need to do it not in my space and not expect me to pay for it or the consequences.

Who exactly do you think the street dealer is? It's your neighbor Heather. The one who has a son who plays basketball with your son. She buys an oz so she can sell off three quarters of it to make hers a little cheaper.

And who's the pusherman? Outside of a Stepenwolf tune, has any pervert looking maniac on the street corner offered you a free line of coke? If youre female, maybe. But that's a different motive for a different thing.

Rsh56, you don't know and you don't care? Of course you don't.

I care. Why? My life depends on it... staying sober that is.

You fools who are not addicts and who are not alcoholics sit back and scream "It's not a disease and it is a choice. Just say no!"

Well just say no starts with finding a sufficient substitute to weed and/or booze.

If you want to smoke it then do it!

But amendment 64 does not make it legal!

But Sno what about all the tar?

Some pot will still be sold loose (roll your own)
With legalization comes regulation.
Some will commercialize it.
It will be packaged much like cigarettes.
It will have a filter just like cigarettes to help remove the tar a
bong, water pipe also removes tar.

legislation will make pot heater for users.
This is a good thing.

1.It will still be illegal to do it in your space.
2 Legalizing it will result in taxation.
Part of this taxation will go to paying for the consequences you now pay for.

Yes, I too have received propaganda from respected doctors and when you take the time to read what the AMA has to say about it you to will see the truth start to come out.

is it as safe as drinking water , no.
No one is saying that.
BUT it is not nearly as dangerous as cigarettes or alcohol and they are legal.

So it's not for you or your wife, it will still not be for folks like you even if it is legal. then don't use it. It's prity simple.
Some don't drink and it's legal
Some don't smoke and it's legal.

There are a lot more dangerous things that we can do to our selves than smoking a joint.

Funny, 300+ doctors and 130 college professors came out in FAVOR of prop 64.

Here are their names

It's also worth noting that D.A.R.E. dropped cannabis from their curriculum.
