My Fiancé and I are moving there soon. We're quite excited about the Boulder Denver area. We heard great things about the people and air quality, not to mention some scenery. What do you like most about Colorado? Any favorite things to see and do? What can you tell me about the people and laws, etc.

Are you moving to Colorado totally sight unseen because of a job transfer? Do you know anything at all about Colorado?

This forum has a WEALTH of information addressing all of your questions. There's even a sticky with photos from around the state. Please spend a couple of hours reading up on what's already been written, then if you still have specific questions, come back and ask those.

If I had to boil it down to one thing I would say diversity. Colorado is a very diverse state especially for being one of the less populated sates in the nation.

I don't think Colorado is especially diverse at all. In fact, other than it's schizophrenic politics and culture, it's rather homogenous.

I have to disagree. Just look at the front range from Pueblo to Colorado Springs to Denver to Greeley to Fort Collins. All of the cities are very much different and bring a unique aspect to the state. Then you have the eastern plains, western slope and mountain towns from Salida to Aspen. For our population this is a very diverse state.

I have to agree. Sometimes CO seems like a big white bread and mayo sandwich to me, both in people and landscape.
But no bugs, no humidity, no allergies, 300+ days of sunshine, 300+ inches of snow, no ice storms, no freezing rain, the pioneer "can-do" attitude, low cost of living, reasonable taxes....
Of course I am just comparing to where I grew up, there are things I miss. But there are alot of fundamental day-to-day qualities of CO that outweigh the aesthetics or food that I long for.

In passing amendment 64 to legalize small amounts of mj, Colorado is proving to be a leader in telling the federal government to bug out of our lives.

I love the political climate here. 1/3 Dem, 1/3 Rep, 1/3 Indies. And we're far from the Beltway.
