I’m a young male who is relocating from Alaska to Denver this November. I’m looking for recommendations on areas that would fit me. I hate sprawling suburbs; however, enjoy the mountains and/or a city atmosphere. Being from Alaska, I love the outdoors and would love any area that provides easy access. I’m looking for a younger community (I’m 24) filled with open minded, outdoorsy folk. My only limitation is I have to live 2 hours from the Denver international airport (traffic considered). For those of you that respond, thanks.

Only limitation? So unlimited funds?
What is your rent budget or housing price range?
What line of work are you in?

Fort Collins would be a great place for you. It is a medium sized city with several smaller communities around. You could pick how big of a place you wanted to be in. There is easy access to DIA which would take you about an hour and a half from here. Also it is a college town so it would be perfect for your age group.

$800/mo would get you a nice 1-2 BR place in Denver or its suburbs. The mtns are much more. I think Ft. Collins is comparable.

You can find a nice place in Fort Collins for 800.00. It would be a little bit of a drive to DIA though.
