This is spot on. Real estate varies greatly depending on area, though.

BTW no matter how 'correct' you think you got your state income tax filing, expect them to be sending you a bill about three years later, every year.

Perhaps this has been your experience but it has not been mine. I suspect that you are the only person in this thread who has had this experience. Anyone else?

I have never had this happen in 31 years in Colorado. Never.
