We are moving from Northern Virginia to Denver in early March, and are having a Going Away Party for our two kids. I was thinking about maybe putting together small favor bags for the kids with a small frame (that I could send a picture of my child and their friend for, afterward) but I thought it might be fun to include something that represents Colorado, if something like that exists.

For instance, I could do peanuts for Virginia, Old Bay Seasoning for Maryland, Oranges or Disney for Florida, etc........Does Colorado have a thing? We DO have a Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory near us, but since those are everywhere, I'm guessing they aren't really Colorado.

Also, since this is for kids, sadly, beer isn't going to work.

Thanks!

Xenophobic 'born in Colorado' nativists. But they'll be hard to fit in the bag.

Haha! I'd imagine the kids parents wouldn't be happy with another mouth to feed.

Or, just find some Colorado Mtn License Plate novelties that are Photo Frames. (Estes Park stores ought to have ZILLIONS on sale in Feb / March), check their online closeouts.

Of course you need the ones that say "Naive"

Definitely Colo NATIVES are the CO 'Thing', just ask anyone from WY what they think of 'Greenies' (License Plates)
Thanks! I will check that out!

My husband is from Colorado Springs, so at least one of use will be liked. Unless they hold it against people who move and come back.

The first store opened in Durango CO in 1981 but has since been franchised so it's not unique to Colorado anymore. I still think it's a good idea since it's "Rocky Mountain" chocolate and would be easy for you to get.
Celestial Seasonings tea is synonymous with Colorado but sold everywhere (kids probably don't drink tea either). Same with Jolly Ranchers.
One thing that might be fun is "instant snow" in a can. My nieces and nephews would always take some home for their friends (they live in TX). But then it snows in VA too doesn't it?
How old are the kids? How about a small stuffed animal -- an elk, bear, mountain goat or bighorn sheep?
This is a challenge so early in the am!

We have the largest Elk herds in the country. Get them a little plush elk.

Maybe a little bag of sand from Virginia Beach to represent the sand of the Colorado deserts!
