We have a couple that hang out in the yard. Last summer one apparently wanted a drink and got stuck in the dog's kiddy pool, still makes me shiver, had to kindly ask the neighbor to rescue her.

When I was working a fire line out in the Taryall Mountains I came across the biggest bull snake I've ever seen! The area ranges from 8000-12000 feet in elevation. I still have a picture of it somewhere, although it's not digital so I'll have to scan it if I ever find it. Scared the living c**p out of me though!

I'm not a snake expert - but don't they hibernate in the winter?
I've read that sometimes they even freeze because they are cold blooded. They should be tucked away somewhere in a vegetative state in a den down deep, not scurrying around in the snow in Gilpin County!

I've read that sometimes they even freeze because they are cold blooded. They should be tucked away somewhere in a vegetative state in a den down deep, not scurrying around in the snow in Gilpin County!
