Hi All! I was wondering if CO has any good blues music festivals? My husband and I are from Memphis and we are considering a move this year. We have to have our occasional live blues music fix, so I was curious.

Also, are there any specific bands or venues in the Denver or CO Springs areas (specifically) that are known for showcasing delta blues? TIA!

I'm sure with COLORADO you mean Denver, but Telluride Blues Festival is very cool.

The 19th Annual Telluride Blues & Brews Festival ~ September 14 - 16, 2012 ~ Telluride, Colorado : Home

No, we are willing to visit other towns/cities for good music! Not just Denver... =) Thanks for the link.

YW. It's not Beale St, sitting in BB King's or the Rum Boogie eating some amazing BBQ listening to real blues, but it'll do for us misplaced southerners.

Oskar Blues brewery in Lyons is the closest venue for consistent blues music.

Also, many local New Orleans artists make regular stops in Denver, playing such venues as the Bluebird and Ogden theaters. You'll have to pay attention to tour schedules, etc to catch one.

As others have said: Telluride 'Blues & Brews' festival. Red Rocks sometimes does a Blues fest too.

Nope from Fayetteville. Used to go to Memphis a lot. I get my pork BBQ when I smoke it myself. Haven't found any decent BBQ places here. They don't have crawfish boils here either!

Don't laugh at me...

Greeley has a good Blues Jam in June every year. On Friday many bands pack the downtown area and it's a lively music-filled neighborhood party type atmosphere. I look forward to it every year! On Saturday there's an all-day festival at the local arena. I haven't been to that, but it gets good reviews. Here is the link: http://greeleybluesjam.wordpress.com/

As far as BBQ. I haven't found anything like I had on vacation in Memphis, but we enjoy Nordy's (by the Budweiser Event Center).
