So, I remember a certain member here a few months ago telling me she thought I should be driving a Jeep...

Today I traded the Mustang in for a 2008 Jeep Wrangler X with 26,000 miles on it. Got a great deal, warranty and free oil changes included for 5 years. Now I can drive in the snow here without having to be puckered up.

So, I've had my Jeep for two whole days now. Time to get her dirty! Went up to Silver Jack Reservoir this morning through Owl Creek Pass. Not exactly a "Jeep road" but was good enough for me to see how this handled. Very pleasant morning, about 60 up there, light traffic (mostly dirt bikes).

On Owl Creek Pass.

I got high:

lovely, one of my favorite drives. Glad to see the fire did not go through that section! We were there last September and ran into this, also a step back in time:

We pulled off the road and waited for them to pass, it was a huge flock. You can see that dog in the front is keeping an eye on us! There were two shepherds and three dogs. This only shows a small section of the flock. We sat there watching them walk by for about 20 minutes. I am guessing at least 1000 sheep.

Pouring rain now temp dropped from 81 to 68 in 45 minutes. Lightening and thunder too, glad I decided not to go fishing today. I need to go this week, I'm out of trout!

Gorgeous photos, thanks, Jim! During one visit to Ridgway, there were very impressive storms every day. Nothing like the little burps back East. Good time to stay in and plan your next trout-hunt.

Went fishing on my spot at the Ridgway State Park yesterday morning, caught four nice size rainbow trout. Pouring rain south of town yesterday evening, saw a double rainbow as the sun set. Warmer than it has been last night and warm this morning.
