Bright sunshine, deep blue sky and 33 degrees this morning. Looking at the snowcapped San Juans out my window and fixin to grab my coffee and go for a walk. Thought I would share a few pics of things that are just a few steps from my front door, taken on my evening walk yesterday:

Very nice, love the stormy skies in the last photo. We have the best skies in Colorado!

Couldn't agree more. Especially out here on the Western Slope. I am stunned all over again everytime I look up and see how clear the stars are shining. We do well in the spectacular way the light can get just before sunset, also!

Know what's really nice? 10pm in Delta it's 75 degrees, here it's 50 and NO mosquitoes. What a pleasant evening!

I have never been to Delta, but it sounds a mite rough! I have been to Ridgway though, it's pretty heavenly there.

I love the San Juans, and canít stand to read about them without jumping in here. I know this isnít a travel forum, no thread hijacking here, just wanted to share in the enjoyment of these majestical mountains. Here are some of the things we like and plan to do beginning June 28th, kind of in this order. This will be our 6th year in a row. My guess is that Jazz has done all of this, Rambler has done most, and Jim may have done some of these. Regardless, itís a wonderful neck of the woods Ė

Tent camp on Mineral Creek just north of Silverton
Fish Molas Lake
Hike to the Ice Lakes Basin
Enjoy Ouray: shop a bit, visit, hike the Ouray Perimeter Trail / Cascade Falls
Explore Yankee Boy Basin, then traverse Imogene Pass
Ouray Hot Springs pool
D&SNGRR Ė for the kids
Hang in Silverton, drive up Kendall Mountain
Traverse Black Bear
Relocate to Lake City (via Ridgway!!!), camp by Henson Creek
Play with kids in the town park, relax, shop a bit
Enjoy and participate in all the 4th of July activities Ė parade, games in the park, fireworks, music
Fly fish Cebolla Creek and Lake Fork of the Gunnison
Eat at the Cannibal Grill
Drive up Nellie Creek, Engineer Pass
Tour American Basin
Summit Handies
Breakfast at the Lake City Bakery

...... then relocate to another place- family wants to go to RMNP via the Grand Lake side, ....again.

Thanks, I feel better now. Be there soon!

Here is our proud moment last year, heís one crazy little man:

Lots of people here this weekend, lots of traffic. The town park was packed Sunday while I was sitting there reading. Actually had a couple of people (tourists) take my photo. Maybe I should charge? Anyway, walked around town some, about 9 miles in total most of the day. Back here for some refreshing adult beverages and a grilled rib eye, visited with friends.

It's been sunny, in the 70's with nights in the 40's. Just perfect windows open nice weather.
